Help us shape and lead our marketing. Clarify our message, use what we already have, and build thoughtful systems that help more people discover what we’ve created.
Open Letter from AJ
Wholehearted.org has never had a marketing department. We’ve intentionally grown slowly, building high-quality, heartfelt video programs on healing trauma, addiction, recovery, parenting, and emotional resilience. We’ve built a beautiful body of work that has reached people and earned trust, but we’ve never had a larger strategy for sharing it.
That’s where you come in.
If marketing feels to you like an opportunity to offer clarity, connection, and service (not just clickbait) we’d love to hear from you.
With care, AJ Foxx Founder, Wholehearted.org
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone to help shape and lead our first real approach to marketing. Someone who can help us clarify our message, make use of our significant asset library, and build thoughtful systems that help more people discover what we’ve created. We want to become more visible, sustainable, and easy to find for the people who need what we offer.
This role is for someone who knows how to build a marketing plan from the ground up and work closely with a small team to implement it. You’ll help us use our email list, membership base, social platforms, existing partnerships, and content library with more intention and consistency. You won’t inherit a department. You’ll help create one in spirit, with support from people who care and are ready to help.
You Should Have
Experience developing and running marketing strategies for a small or mission-driven organization in the mental health field.
Familiarity with digital campaigns, email marketing, content strategy, and building audience trust over time.
Knowledge of how to activate membership programs, mailing lists, and partnerships.
Clear communication, organization, and follow-through.
Comfort working with a creative team to produce and adapt marketing assets.
A good grasp of how messaging connects with real people, not just clickbait.
What You’ll Be Doing
Organizing and reviewing Wholehearted’s current assets and outreach tools.
Helping define and simplify our messaging and public-facing voice.
Creating and managing campaigns for new and existing programs.
Collaborating with the social media manager, creative team, and leadership.
Using our email list, membership base, and partner network to increase visibility.
Supporting both our free public programs and professional educational offerings.
Tracking results and adjusting strategy based on performance and feedback.
Arrangement & Compensation Details
Currently, this is not a remote position.
The position can start part-time, full time, or as contract work, we’re flexible for the right person. This role starts at $30 to $90 per hour depending on experience, fit, and responsibilities.
We’re a self-funded passion project. We are not backed by investors. Every dollar we spend is intentional. We are committed to fair pay, mutual respect, and building something sustainable. Success in this role will lead to expanded opportunities, flexibility, freedom, and additional compensation.
Our Socials
This is a marketing role. Which reminds me… we should probably show you our social media. Here ya go!
We are a small, in-person team based in Sacramento. We make high quality programming focused on healing trauma, addiction, recovery, and mental health with renowned experts. We believe in the value of real-time collaboration, whether it’s around a whiteboard, a shared screen, or conference table (with snacks).
We are flexible when it matters. We understand life, family, and the need for flexibility. We care about the people we work with. But we also care about the work itself. We do things with intention, and we expect presence and strong commitment.
We focus on quality, clarity, and service. Our mission is to help people take ownership of their lives. Our content, culture, and public voice reflect that. We don’t align our work with any political movement or ideology. We center human experience, emotional honesty, and practical support.
If that resonates with you, you may feel at home here.
